Group walks are what we do best.

We don't try to be everything to every dog.

For over a decade, group dog walking has been at the heart of Pooches Unleashed. We've chosen to specialise in carefully matched woodland adventures for small and medium dogs,  giving us years to learn what makes a truly brilliant group walk, and what makes dogs genuinely thrive together.

Our groups aren't simply dogs who happen to need a walk at the same time. They're thoughtfully built little communities, matched around size, personality, confidence, energy and play style.

Proper adventures. Genuine friendships. Dogs who can't wait to see us arrive.

More than a walk.

An hour in the woods can give them so much more than exercise.

ENRICHMENT

Sniff. Explore. Be a dog.
Woodland walks give dogs the freedom to follow scents, investigate their surroundings and engage their brains as well as their bodies

EVERYDAY SKILLS

Learning without the classroom.
Recall, check-ins, patience and good manners are naturally reinforced throughout every adventure — without turning their walk into a training session.

FRIENDSHIP

The same faces become their favourite faces.
Consistent, carefully matched groups allow genuine friendships to develop over time, helping dogs feel secure, confident and excited to see their friends.

Every dog is an individual. We look at size, personality, confidence, energy and play style before deciding where they'll be happiest. Because the best group isn't necessarily the dogs who need a walk at the same time — it's the dogs who genuinely enjoy being together.

Wherever possible, our dogs walk with the same familiar faces week after week. That consistency gives friendships time to grow, helps nervous dogs find their confidence and creates happy little groups that are genuinely excited to see one another.

This is especially important for smaller dogs, whose play styles and confidence can be very different. They'll never simply be expected to fit into a group dominated by bigger, more boisterous personalities.

And those occasional bigger faces? They're carefully matched, long-standing members of the Pooches family who we know inside out, and who are completely at home with their smaller friends.

The right group changes everything.

We don’t fill spaces. We build groups.

Finding their group

One of the gang

It starts with learning about their personality, routine, confidence, likes, dislikes and what you're looking for.

We meet your dog at home, let them get to know us and talk through everything we need to know before their first adventure.

Two handlers. One gentle introduction.

Your dog's first group adventures are supported by both of us. One can focus on your dog while the other manages the established group, giving us the time and attention to introduce them carefully, read their body language and build their confidence without rushing them.

We observe their confidence, communication, energy, play style and the dogs they naturally connect with. If another group would suit them better, we adjust.

Once we've found their fit, they enjoy familiar humans, familiar friends and regular adventures,  allowing confidence and genuine friendships to grow over time.

No sink-or-swim introductions. No expecting them to simply fit in. Just the time, support and extra pair of hands they need to find their place.
