About us - dog walker Horsforth and Cookridge

It started with three very important dogs. 

A retired racer. A gentle giant. And one very feisty little Jack Russell.

Pooches Unleashed began in 2016, but not with a business plan to become another dog walking company.

​

At the time, Sami was working in corporate events with schools and businesses. After bringing home her ex-racing greyhound and seeing how differently dog walking could be done, she made a fairly enormous decision: rather than find someone else to walk her dog while she went to the office, she'd leave the office and build the kind of service she'd genuinely trust with him herself.

And then there were three.

Her ex-racing greyhound. A beautiful Mastiff who helped shape those very first groups. And a feisty little Jack Russell who made it abundantly clear that size doesn't determine personality.

Three dogs with completely different bodies, temperaments, confidence and needs,  and, without us quite realising it at the time, the beginnings of the philosophy we still follow today.

​

Don't simply put dogs together. Get to know them. Find where they belong.

More than a decade later, that's still how we build every Pooches group.
